Farming Operations Director
My client is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill this newly created position.
The Role:
This will be a key role within the business to develop and maintaining industry leading growing and harvesting processes. It will involve the development of a robust farm strategy in pursuit of our business visions and objectives. The role will also involve the direction and management of strategic business workstreams whilst promoting seamless communication across all areas of the business. Additionally, all operations must be managed within operational budgets and to performance targets with safety and efficiency paramount.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be a strong leader, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams and individuals accordingly. He/she will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to build and maintain sustainable relationships at all levels. An extensive knowledge of vegetable growing & harvest operations together with crop forecasting techniques will be necessary and also experience of working to retail product specification and working practices. Brassica production knowledge would be a definite advantage with the ability to develop best practice. The candidate should possess a good working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements within this area of responsibility. Good experience of budgetary control and KPI development/management are also required. The ability to manage agency/gang labour in order to maximise efficiency and performance complete the requirements. |
