Shift Manager
Job Title : Shift Manager

Key Accountability
To co-ordinate and direct production teams to ensure that target production outputs and quality parameters are achieved within agreed crewing and performance standards. To be responsible for his/her safety and the safety of others (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974).
To actively employ the ‘Company Values’ and company policies and procedures in all areas of work.
Key Tasks
Labour
Ensure that standard labour numbers and the appropriate skills are allocated so as to achieve the planned production output. Ensure staff are adequately trained for the tasks they are given.
Ensure adequate operational and management cover at all times.
Ensure all holidays are planned, (with at least two weeks notice where possible) recorded, agreed, communicated and that all documentation is completed. Ensure adequate cover is provided.
Manage and monitor absence within the department. Ensure that all Return To Work paperwork is filled out before the start of the shift and that the department is following the Absence and Timekeeping procedures. Monitor the Working Time Directive with HR and the Production Manager.
You are responsible for ensuring that all employees are entered on production sheets and to authorise them for payment. Maintain efficient start up, breaks and finish times to enhance line performance.
Ensure that all new employees and all new agency workers have an induction before commencing work.
